Recreation Programs

The following programs are run by or in partnership with the Rimbey Community Services Department.  Some programs are registration based and some are drop-in.  For more information please phone the Recreation Office at 403-843-3151.

Active Programs 

Babysitting Course- May 12, 2017
For ages 11+. Children learn the business and basics of babysitting.

Community Garden
Applications for the community garden can be found at http://rimbey.com/administration/forms-and-applications or be picked up at the Recreation Office.

Drop in Badminton/Pickleball*
Bring a friend and drop in to play badminton on Thursdays in December 7:00-8:30pm. $2.00 per person. 

Fitness Centre
We have a fitness centre located in the Peter Lougheed Community Centre. For more information please follow this link.    

 *Drop in Programs can be cancelled on short notice if someone books the Main Auditorium. Please phone the Recreation Office for more information or to confirm if drop in is taking place.


Off Season/Pending Programs

Bring a friend and drop in to play badminton on Wednesdays 7:00-8:30pm. $2.00 per person.  

Open Gym*
When we have no rentals and the gym is open, we let people play in the main auditorium. $2.00 per person.

Winter Walking
Too much snow to walk outside? During the winter months, walk around the high school for some safe exercise.  Wilk inside Rimbey Junior/Senior High School until 10pm any day that there is school, subject to custodial availability. Walkers are invited to visit the school office during office hours for an official school calendar.

Surprisingly, Pickleball has nothing to do with pickles. Come check out this fun sport that is a combination of badminton and ping-pong. Drop in on Wednesdays 7:00-8:30pm. $2.00 per person. 

Public Skating
We have public skating in the Rimbey Arena. Click here for the Arena Schedule.

A blend of Classic Zumba, Zumba Toning, and the brand new STRONG by Zumba. Zumba is excercise in disguise. It is a total workout that combines cardio, strength, balance and flexability with fun Latin dance music. No dance or previous fitness class experience required!

 * Open Gym times run around bookings that can change from day to day.  We recommend that you phone ahead to confirm availability.  Equipment is available.
