Vern Poffenroth Memorial Arena
Public Skating 2019/2020
The arena has ice from mid-September to mid-March yearly.
The Vern Poffenroth Memorial Arena was renamed after Vern Poffenroth on October 15, 2016.
In Dedication of Vern Poffenroth:
No stranger to hard work, a farmer, with his wife by his side, embraced the hockey way of life.
Iceman, handyman, running the concession, coaching, and mentoring are all part of Vern's legacy.
A community friend and one of the founders of Rimbey Minor Hockey, Vern took pleasure in serving others.
We fondly remember and celebrate Vern each time the whistle blows and puck drops.
The Arena was built in 1996 and has a seating capacity of 600. It is home to the Rimbey Renegades of the Rimbey Minor Hockey Association and the Rimbey Falcons of the Rimbey Pond Hockey Association. The arena opens mid September and closes at the end of March. For more information on arena times, call the arena office at (403) 843-2000 or for bookings call the Recreation Office at (403) 843-3151
